And, the folks continue to vote democrat.
Starting Jan 1, 2027, Illinois’ new social media tax will go into effect.
As part of the new state budget that Illinois Democrats passed, a new Social Media Tax was passed. No doubt, this new tax will end up costing you money every time you log onto social media beginning next year.
Background: The tax is a new $200 million on social media companies. The tax will be levied on the social media companies, and the tax will assuredly be passed on to Facebook, Twitter, X, TikTok, Truth Social and Instagram users in Illinois.
The tax hike was part of the Democrat budget approved last week that includes nearly $1 Billion in new tax and fee hikes on Illinois citizens.
Although the potential new cost to Illinois social media users has not yet been detailed, Illinois social media users can expect additional costs in the form of new mandatory subscriptions and user fees to access their social media accounts.
